This book focuses on phonemic discrimination, which reading experts call the ability to distinguish the smallest sound units (letters with their vowels) that make up words. Awareness of phonemic discrimination is a fundamental skill for teaching children to read. Chapter Three: Building the ability to distinguish between introductory assonance, memorizing a set of examples of introductory assonance.

Chapter Four: Recognizing letters, drawing, writing and writing letters.

Chapter Five: Developing the ability to distinguish letter names and sounds, pronouncing letter sequences and formations.
